OPEN LETTER TO IOC PRESIDENT THOMAS BACH

October 16, 2019 (Colorado Springs, USA)  - On September 20th, 2019, a group of independent athlete associations and athlete representatives from 6 countries in addition to 4 global sport organizations, came together for a second time at the annual AthletesCAN Forum to discuss international issues impacting our members. The open letter below is the collective action resulting from those discussions.

2019 IG WEALTH MANAGEMENT AMATEUR ATHLETES FUND BURSARY RECIPIENTS

IG Wealth Management, a national leader in delivering personalized financial solutions, annually awards twenty $5,000 bursaries to assist Canada’s elite amateur athletes with the costs of training and competition. Selection criteria includes: athletic achievement, financial need and community involvement. AthletesCAN administers the bursary program on behalf of IG Wealth Management.

OTTAWA (September 26, 2019) - Canadian athletes had an incredible year of shattering records, making history and effecting positive change in sport from grassroots to high performance. These achievements and contributions received top recognition at the 42nd Canadian Sport Awards (CSAs), which were held Saturday in Toronto.

Athlete leaders unite to influence safe sport policy in Canada

TORONTO (May 2, 2019) - Canada’s top Olympic, Paralympic and high performance athletes gathered in Toronto this week to discuss the way forward in addressing abuse, harassment, and discrimination in sport.
The event was hosted by AthletesCAN at Deloitte University North in partnership with Deloitte Canada, and supported by Respect Group, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Foundation, Sport Canada, the Canadian Olympic Committee, and the Canadian Paralympic Committee.
