Clean Air Champions

Clean Air Champions (CAC) is a national charity formed in 2001 by individuals with backgrounds in sport and environment. CAC’s mission is to work with high performance athletes to improve air quality by educating and inspiring Canadians to adopt practices and lifestyles that enhance both environmental and personal health. Today, CAC has over 180 athlete members including Hayley Wickenheiser, Sara Renner, John Morris, Adam Kreek and Lisa Bentley each passionate about our mission. CAC is a pioneer in curriculum connected programming in the areas of air quality, climate change and health and today has several programs running in schools and communities all across Canada. We provide training and financial compensation for our Champions. For more information please visit www.cleanairchampions.ca.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart

The Canadian Tire Jumpstart program helps financially disadvantaged kids (ages 4 to 18) participate in organized sport and recreation by covering registration, equipment, and/or transportation costs. For some kids, the program gives them the chance to experience a sport or recreation activity for the very first time; for others, it is the assistance they need to continue with an activity they love.

In 2010, the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program grew an unprecedented 51%, assisting more kids than in 2009. Thanks to donations and fundraising revenues, over 98,000 kids across Canada were able to participate. We supported their involvement in 50 activities, from popular sports like hockey, swimming, soccer, and basketball to recreational activities like dance, fitness, yoga, and martial arts. The addition of 25 new Canadian Tire Jumpstart chapters further strengthened our delivery model and will help us reach more kids in the future
