August 30, 2021 - Today, AthletesCAN is pleased to announce its call for nominations for the 44th Canadian Sport Awards. This year's awards will honour the spirit, drive, leadership and commitment of Canada’s international level athletes, coaches, volunteers, and leaders in sport related accomplishments between August 2020 and September 2021.

AthletesCAN Statement in Recognition of the Canadian Heritage Independent Safe Sport Mechanism Announcement

July 6, 2021 –Today the Honorable Minister Guilbeault and Parlimentary Secretary Adam van Koeverden, announced that the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada will be the lead organization responsible for establishing the Independent Safe Sport Mechanism (“ISSM”).

The AthletesCAN family mourns the lives of the 215 Indigenous children found at the site of a residential school on Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation territory in Kamploops, BC. We send our condolences to the families of these children who did not make it home, as well as Indian Residential School survivors, and all Indigenous people across the nation.

April 14, 2021 - It is with extreme disappointment that AthletesCAN learned the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) April 12, 2021 news that their request for a transitional period for players deemed non-eligible in the Classification Reassessment Process had been denied by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Governing Board.

How to Respond to a Possible Anti-Doping Rule Violation. The resource provides a straightforward guide for athletes should they have an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) asserted against them according to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP).
