Only One Week until the 2015 AthletesCAN Forum!


The 23rd edition of the award winning AthletesCAN Forum will be held in Mississauga, Ontario from Friday September 25 - Sunday September 27!

The annual AthletesCAN Forum is the largest and most inclusive gathering of Canada’s national team athlete representatives outside of competition. It brings together Canada’s high performance athletes and sport leaders to learn about the sport system, develop leadership skills, share ideas and network through interactive workshops, seminars and presentations.

This year’s edition features:

Exciting Speakers and Important Topics Some of the country’s top sport leaders will discuss topics currently impacting the Canadian sport landscape, including:

  • Faces of Athlete Leadership - Determining your Own Path to Leadership Featuring Perdita Felicien – former world champion and Pan Am medalist (Athletics); Claire Carver Dias - Olympic, Commonwealth Games and Pan Am Medalist (Synchronized Swimming); Adam Kreek – Olympic gold medalist and former world champion (Rowing); Dan Thompson – Olympian, 3-timeCommonwealth Games Champion and AthletesCAN Founder; Trevino Betty – Commonwealth Games and Pan Am medalist (Athletics); and more.

  • Strengthening the Collective: Why Athlete Representation? Featuring: Walter Palmer - former NBA Player and former head of UNI World Athletes, and Michael Smith, past AthletesCAN president and national team wrestler

AthletesCAN Excellence Celebration Hosted by 3-Time Olympian Rosey Edeh and featuring musical entertainment by Olympian Rosanna Tomiuk. Also, join Martin Boileau - Director General of Sport Canada, Karina LeBlanc - 2012 Olympic medalist (Soccer) and more for a Year of Sport in Canada Debrief & Look ahead to 2016

10th Annual KidsCAN School Day National team athletes will head out to the Abilities Centre in Whitby to inspire kids from the Durham Catholic District School Board and promote sport and the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

AthletesCAN Awards
The AthletesCAN Leadership Award and the AthletesCAN Social Responsibility Award will be presented to athlete leaders who inspire others to excel and contribute to meaningful change where they live, work and play.
