AthletesCAN celebrates the federal government’s decision to increase athlete funding by 18%
Canadian athletes are celebrating today as the federal government announced an increase to the Athlete Assistance Program, known as “carding” or AAP. The last increase to carding was in 2004.
Applications for the 2017 Team Investors Group Amateur Athletes Fund are now available!
In keeping with their commitment to amateur sport in Canada, Investors Group is once again offering $5,000 each to 20 of our country’s high performance athletes to assist with costs of training and competition. Since the program’s inception in 2000, the Team Investors Group Amateur Athletes Fund has provided Canadian athletes with $1,700,000.
(Ottawa, Ontario – May 4, 2016) – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) released today a document entitled, “Creating Inclusive Environments for Trans Participants in Canadian Sport - Guidance for Sport Organizations,” developed in consultation with the Trans Inclusion in Sport Expert Working Group.
